The Georgetown Christian Signing choir was started in 2008, as a few people that regularly come to Georgetown Church were very enthusiastic to learn some Christmas Songs in Sign.  We started to meet up once a week at Church and learnt a few well known carols in the first 3 months, just in time for Christmas!

Every year we join members and families of the Deaf Children's society to sign to a backing track in Town, to Christmas carols to raise money for them. It has been a huge success year after year and we all look
forward to signing with them and having fun! This year we signed outside BHS and helped them to raise £133.00 which was a fantastic amount! All the money stays in the island and goes towards equipment
etc to help them in their everyday lives.

We meet regularly every fortnight to learn songs, Hymns, Prayers in Sign Language, and learn how Worship in Sign Language is a powerful tool, not only just for the deaf church but the hearing church too.

In 2009 we signed at St Brelade’s Parish church at Remembrance Day service, “Amazing Grace” and then in the evening for the second year running we signed in the “Eisteddfod’s dedication” service at St
Helier Methodist Church. We often have deaf visitors from the UK who always come and support us which is fantastic!
