Meet our Minister

Hello, my name is Liz Hunter and I am the minister with pastoral responsibility for The Bay Methodist Church. I have been in Jersey since September 2004 and feel a great affinity for the people of the island and their history, a history which is often reflected in the depth of loyalty and faithfulness to the church. Here at The Bay we are actively seeking God’s will for our future, asking what direction he is leading us in and what this demands of our discipleship. The beginning of the 21st century is a time of spiritual searching for many people and the challenge for the church is to find ways of making the gospel relevant and exciting to those for whom church is not a familiar environment. This has got to involve reaching out to the local community and one of the ways in which we at The Bay do this is through the gift of hospitality. The gospel shows us how Jesus so often comes alongside people over a meal. Through our weekly summer Coffee Mornings we seek to continue this pattern of fellowship and have found that through this we are especially able to offer a ministry to visitors and holidaymakers; an area that could so easily be overlooked. Any one joining us for Sunday worship, or at any of our other activities, will find a warm welcome waiting for them.
