Our Calling

Up

Our goal is to encourage, equip and enable in all the different areas that we are called to serve in as Christians. The diagram below gives an idea how this works out in practice;

Encouraging

By providing support and a meeting place to build links and friendships at the annual Network consultation and at conferences

By sharing tasks between group members so that everyone's skills are developed and used

Through district and European exchanges which build relationships

By listening to needs and responding

Enabling

By encouraging a collaborative leadership style in groups throughout the church

By providing information and suggestions for social and political action

By reporting the activities and life experiences of people in Magnet magazine

By providing workshop ideas and experiences for wider sharing

By advising where to access information and by sharing information.

Equipping

Through training at annual Network consultations and Triennial Conferences

Through Magnet training days

Through the process of producing Magnet (which includes the training of editors, enabling adults with mental and physical disabilities and with visual impairment to develop their skills in packing and distributing Magnet, developing management and promotional skills of groups members and local distributors)

Through study programmes and ideas from events such as the Fourth UN World Conference on Women, the World Federation of Methodist and Uniting Church Women, as well as Network events and groups

Through the block representatives to the Connexional Committee

By printing accessible worship material in Magnet magazine

Through training at special conferences and days (e.g. Pastoral Care, Younger women)
