View of St Aubin Jersey
The stained glass window depicting the Bible Story of the Healing at the Pool of Bethesda was the gift of the Morley family who came to Jersey from Leeds in 1864. They came to the warmer climate for Mr. Morley’s health.
They left their family behind in England. One son was a Doctor in Leeds and was called during his meal to a patient who had a heart attack. He left urgently and whilst cycling up a hill to the patient he also had a heart attack and died. The parents put this window in memorium to him in 1912. The lettering at the foot of the picture is thought to translate as:
‘Come to me for healing and come again, and again and again’
